Abstract

Training and development are the processes through which an organization uses human resources to develop the internal capacity to most efficiently and effectively provide its objectives work and to sustain itself over the long term.

Training and development are the processes through which an organization uses human resources to develop the internal capacity to most efficiently and effectively provide its objectives work and to sustain itself over the long term.  It deals with the design and delivery of learning to improve performance, skills, or knowledge within organizations.

Training and development can involve many activities, including instructional design, course planning and delivery, research on effectiveness, research and development of training, leadership development, executive development, communication skills improvement, and web-based and self-learning activities. 

There is a long history of research into training and development dating back before the 1940s, and deriving largely from military training and strategy.  This has developed in parallel with both sociological research into business studies, and cognitive, behavioral and humanistic psychology. …….to be continued
